Tuesday 20th July

Toady we sent emails, tried to set up meetings and focused on starting our proposals, due in Friday. However, by the evening we started to really feel the cabin fever and had to escape. We had found that there was a second mall a bit further away and it had a Pizza Hut, the boys really wanted some pizza, after four days of constant Indian cuisine. There was a phone shop at the second mall, Crown Plaza and we went in to see what deals they had.

Yesterday we had tried to get SIM cards but they shop said that it would cost us 100Rs for the SIM and could not give us details about talk time, which seemed very strange. The shop at Crown Plaza was much more accommodating and they had SIMs for 50Rs – score! The only problem was that they too asked for photo copies of our VISA, photo ID and a passport sized photo. So we abandoned that mission and went to fill our stomachs.

Pizza Hut was nice, the food was good and the staff very attentive. One interesting factor was by the door was a huge bell and if you had had a good meal you were asked to ring the bell as you left the restaurant. It was a different concept and everyone got into it, from parents to kids. Some of the smaller kids would run up to the bell and jump to reach the ringer. We each rang on our way out, it was definitely a nice change from the hostel dinners.
