I felt rather unwell this morning so skipped breakfast (I think it was due to trying milk at breakfast the day before). I was woken up at about 9am by a knock at the door, it was Cl. Apparently Ch had not had breakfast either, he had woken up in the night with a terrible, red, raised rash and they were taking him to hospital. Although I was worried I thought the last thing that would help would be me crowding him and getting in the way at the hospital. So the boys went to sort Ch out.
Whilst they were away I wished I had gone, I tried to throw myself into working on the proposal but I was so worried. Therefore once we had washed and dressed Ci and I decided we would go visit the local Ayurvedic centre, JIVA group. A visit had been mentioned in our talks with S and it would be a productive way to spend the morning. As we were leaving Cl appeared at the door. The had just come back from the hospital and Ch was resting. He had been given an injection and anti-histamine tablets to ward off any further reactions. It was great news, and by the time we would get back we would be able to see him - even better.
The ride to JIVA was longer than we had anticipated and as usual we experienced a dispute with the rickshaw driver as to the value of the journey. The director of JIVA ended up coming out to meet us and sorted out the misunderstanding, in a way. He invited us into his office and listened to us explain our projects. He introduced us to the concept of JIVA Private School and that is where I started to formulate an idea of what my project would actually be. Ayurveda as a medical concept did not interest me but there were other aspects of Ayurveda that perhaps I could investigate, such as the lifestyle aspect and how it is incorporated into the teaching and practices at JIVA.
After lunch we got an auto-rickshaw to the market at Sector-15, where the phone shop last night had indicated the possibility of getting passport-sized photos printed. At first we were uncertain that we would find such a shop but exploring further along the rows of random shops and after enquiring in the post office, with no luck. Ch saw a sign pointing the way to a Kodak shop, and in there we were able to get the photos taken and a photo copy of Cis Visa at the same time.
We walked back to a more main road and got into another rickshaw, where we asked to go back to Crown Plaza. This journey was much shorter, and in fact it seemed that Sector-15 was much closer to the mall than we had in mind. The actual purchase of the mobile phones was rather a lengthy process. Despite there being between 4 and 6 staff at the counter at any one time they processed only one person at a time. We were however able to chose our own numbers, which was a rather fun process. The boys chose identical numbers, apart from the last two digits – then they wonder why people this they are a couple!!
